„WHITE BIRDS AND GOD’S JUSTICE„

PART 1:

THE WHITE BROTHERHOOD AND ITS FLOCK OF WHITE BIRDS THROUGH THE CENTURIES

The brotherhood had gone on an excursion to Vitosha – one of the regular excursions, when we left very early from „Izgreva,” and waited for the sunrise somewhere at the foot of Vitosha.

The Master looked around and wished to sit by one of these haystacks. They put a blanket on the ground for him – on the grass – and he sat down and leaned against the haystack. The Master liked to lean against a tree or a rock when he sat down. At the Bivouac on Vitosha, the Master rested his back on a rock, around it a barrier of large stones was built to protect against the winds. On other outings to the mountains when the environment was suitable, the Master did not miss the opportunity to lean against a tree or a rock. The significance was different here, not that he wanted to lean back and rest. Usually, he leaned back, and in doing so, he used a method to unburden himself, to connect to other worlds through these inanimate objects, but for him they were alive. Many times he gave us exercises on how to lean our backs against big trees or sunlit rocks when we are in a difficult situation.

So now the Master was leaning on the haystack. Some sisters spread a white cloth before him and laid a small breakfast.

We were seated in groups, scattered ten meters from each other; with white towels spread in front of us, in white robes, and with the sisters wearing wide brim white hats and the brothers wearing white hats and towels on their heads, we looked like a flock of white birds that just landed on the meadow. Well, the Master had many times likened the White Brotherhood to a flock of white birds that flew from country to country; reincarnate from country to country, but always gather in one place – in one country, wherever and whenever the Great Teacher came. This country was now here, Bulgaria. And this flock of white birds had perched in front of the Master, and placed themselves in these white robes, hats and towels all over the meadow.

I looked around the whole setting, I was happy, but I knew that my joy would not last long, here, on this meadow. In any case, after we took out of our backpacks what we were carrying, each sister also took out a sweet or something prepared especially for the trip and presented it to the Master.

I waited for the end, because I was accustomed, when I presented something to the Master, I took the opportunity to ask him about what was exciting me at the moment.

I wanted to share what I had seen in the meadow – that the picture reminded me of a flock of white birds resting on a green lawn. This had so lifted me and transported me to another world, that I experienced a special joy within myself.

My turn came, I got up and went to him. I presented him with the cake. He smiled, thanked me, and then I decided to share with him my delight at the flock of white birds of the Brotherhood that flew through the ages.

„Master, do you see how the whole Brotherhood has settled in the clearing, like a flock of white birds that have come from the ages – a flock of white birds of the White Brotherhood?“

The Master looked at the meadow and the flock all in white, he also looked at me, and told me to go to them and make a common prayer – to pray.

I went and the Master’s orders were fulfilled. We began to pray – prayer after prayer – from the prayers that the Master had given us. Then the Master called me over with his hand, and he left the rest of the brothers and sisters to pray. I approached him and he spoke directly to me:

„At the time, there were 722 disciples with Christ and they left him, but 72 people remained. But these also left him and only 13 people remained. And one of these betrayed him.”

The Master paused for a moment and continued in a completely different, stern tone: „Do you think it will be any different now?“

Something in me turned, the Earth turned around me and in me – as if the whole flock of white birds perched on the meadow, spread their wings, rose up and flew back 2,000 years, and landed at the feet of Christ. During that time, as the flock of white birds flew back through the ages to reach the time of Christ, the same words kept ringing in my ears: „Do you think it will not be the same now? Do you think it will be different now?”

With these words of the Master, I went to my place and sat in front of my white cloth spread on the ground. I sat on the grass next to the white towel. And I became one of those white birds of that white flock perched at the feet of the Universal Master – Beinsa Duno. I felt that I was one with them, but I could see someone carving with a hammer and chisel – carving into my mind those words of the Master, so that they would not be forgotten, but remembered forever and ever.

„DO YOU THINK IT WILL BE DIFFERENT NOW?„

Years passed, the Master was gone. More years passed. The Master’s words came true. Some left „Izgreva,” others were lured into the world and stayed there.

But there remained still a dozen who had to endure. And if today, tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow you can get hold of the Master’s Words, the Master’s songs, and the Master’s Paneurhythmy, it is because of those who persevered and were faithful to the Master until the end of their lives.

And the Master’s words, „Do you think it will be any different now?“ were always in me and with me, and they opened my eyes to everything that happened in his School. Things were clear and definite. But the times and events were such, that all that had been foretold by the Universal Master had to be fulfilled. And it was fulfilled to the end, exactly and as it had to be!

I mentioned that during the Master’s time, what he said to the old friends – they did not fulfill it. Those who were involved in politics – they did not fulfill his words. Only the military, the brothers – officers, fulfilled the Master’s words, because they knew that for them it was like a military order.

What the Master had ordered to be done after his departure was not observed.

After the Master’s departure, others declared themselves against the Brotherhood and against the School. There were also those who sought to possess and appropriate the Master’s funds which he had left for the Brotherhood. Many groups were formed and emotions ran high. Finally, it came to the trial of 1957/58. Boris Nikolov, as the head of the Fraternal Council, was detained under investigation for nine months, and together with Zhecho Panayotov they were sentenced to fourteen years in prison, of which they served four years and were released on January 1, 1963.

During the investigation, I went to a communist – one of those ideological communists who hid at „Izgreva.” In 1957, he held a major state post. I went to him, he received me; he recognized me and after realizing that I had come to seek help for the Brotherhood and Boris Nikolov, he told me the following:

„Listen, you are not a child, and you need to understand this well. We have orders from the highest place to restrict the churches, and abolish all religious sects and movements. That is why you are being persecuted now, because for us you are a religious sect.”

I shuddered, my eyes widened, and I blurted out: “We are not a religious sect. We are an occult school. And you know that very well.” And this high official and dignitary of the new state said:

„You are a religious sect, and as such you are a member of the Committee of Religions, together with all religious sects and all churches.

If you were an Occult School, your place would be in the Bulgarian Academy of Science and you would be listed there. If you were listed there, things would be set differently. But now you are in the Committee of Religions, you are a religious sect to us, and we have a decision to deal once and for all with religious sects and movements. Now go and remember this. And you will not mention my name to anyone, because I opened your eyes and told you the truth. I did this because I ate your bread at „Izgreva,” and something from the words of Master Petar Dunov remained with me.“

I burst into tears and cried out: “Master, forgive me, that we have made a sect out of Your School and entered the list of the Committee of Religions.” The senior official watched me with keen interest and finally, politely escorted me to the door. I walked, staggered, broken in body and spirit.

I went to „Izgreva,” straight to Boyan Boev. I told him everything. Brother Boev was silent. At one point he said: „Maria, on this matter – not a word to anyone. Since no one knows the truth and they will tear us apart.”

The time had come for „Izgreva“ to be torn apart and destroyed.

I headed toward my little home, stopped at the gate and watched it from afar. The Master stayed and slept here many times. I was alone. His words resounded in me: „Do you think it will be any different now?“ I am a witness that this came true. Amen!

WHERE IS THE UNIVERSAL WHITE BROTHERHOOD.

From the Word: Lecture: AND WRITTEN ON THE EARTH. Sunday talks, Sofia, February 22, 1925, Sunday, 10:00 a.m., 7th series;

Some say that the White Brotherhood is in Bulgaria. It has done Bulgaria a great honor if you think it is here. The Universal White Brotherhood cannot choose such a small nation as its headquarters. It has chosen neither England, nor France, nor Germany, nor Russia; it has its headquarters elsewhere. The only thing that now exists in the world is the Universal White Brotherhood. All other people: writers, priests, preachers, philosophers, they work on behalf of the White Brotherhood. And the culture, the truthfulness in the world are always driven by their powerful force, by their mighty spirit. When Christ came to Earth, these great White Brothers sent from Heaven a legion of Angels, officials, to sing. After them came the three wise men, adepts from the east, to worship Christ, and they were also officials of the White Brotherhood. And some say: “The White Brotherhood does not thrive in Bulgaria.”

Bulgarians should know that their freedom was given to them by the White Brotherhood. And if they sin, the White Brothers will deal with them. There is no nation with which they cannot deal. Let us all remember this! This must be imprinted in your minds. The White Brotherhood is not something visible, it is not a sect, it is not a church, it is something alive, outside of these corrupt conditions in which people live. As people live now, what we have, this is not brotherhood.

In one of the past conversations, I defined: a brother is the one who from his departure from God to his return to God, throughout all his existences, he has been your brother.

Your brother is the one who under all the conditions of his life, is ready to sacrifice himself for you.

The brother is the one who loved you as himself.

And he does all this not by violence, but with the great consciousness of that Divine Spirit Who lives in his soul. And if you always have such an ideal, only then will you be disciples and officials of this great Universal Brotherhood.

Now, some say: “We can expel you from Bulgaria!” If it is a question of expulsion, we ask: “Who will you expel? This land does not belong to Bulgarians, it belongs to God. The land of the Englishman does not belong to England, it is the Lord’s; under lease, under lease it is given.”

„ONLY THE SPIRIT CAN ORGANIZE US”

Elena Andreeva speaks. Audio recording of the interview of Dr. Vergilii Krastev with one of the stenographers next to the Master. The recording is from 1970, and was published as a text in Volume 9 of the series “Izgrevat…”

VK: Now, will you be able to tell us the case when the first friends made an attempt to organize and insert organizational forms into the life of the Brotherhood?

EA: As far as I remember, it was 1923. We were in the new assembly hall [at Oborishte Street No. 14], back then we still called it that because we were only there for 2-3 years. And another thing, we heard that the friends said that the Brotherhood was not organized, that everyone did what they wanted, that there was no order, that some discipline needed to be introduced. And therefore, they decided to propose to the Master in class, that the Brotherhood become an organization. I heard this before the class started. Ok, but we waited for the Master to come, we waited, but instead of the Master coming, they brought a letter with the following content:

“When Love reigns, there is no turmoil.

When Wisdom rules, order is not disturbed.

When Truth shines, the fruit blossoms and ripens.“ [Yahweh. Iva. Shela Shalou. Sofia.]

In this way, He thwarted the possibility of such questions being raised, and at the same time he answered the question they were asking. Being that an organization is internal and external.

Our brotherhood cannot be organized externally. What I understood here was the following: We can organize ourselves only internally. If brothers and sisters work together internally, they will be in a state of harmony in their minds and thus, understand each other. And then, there will be no need for external forms and external rules to limit them, but it will be the light they have in their minds. In the midst of the nobleness that they will develop, they will prevail above their feelings, because each one of them will want to do the Will of God. Suddenly in such a way, they will be subjected to the Spirit. The Spirit will guide us. And now when I talk to friends and in the future, I say: „Only the Spirit can organize us.“

For me personally, the answer of the Master had an uplifting effect, because these were old forms that we wanted to hold on to. So we would make a statute and ask the members to act according to the points of the statute. Statutes have been attempted in many places.

The Master in such cases would say: “You come here and want to impose your understanding.” “If you do not like it here, but you like the world, go there and live.“

So he was making an experiment with all of us. I cannot say what it was from a higher point of view, to qualify it, but he had come to teach us something new, which was nowhere to be found. And in this way we returned to the old forms. And the Master wanted something completely new, he wanted to create from us, new people. Because what he was saying to us was about the disciple and about the new man. It is not in complete harmony with us, it is something more.

VK: Higher form. In one place the Master said thus: „We have not come to make a church.“ In another place he said, „We will not make the New Teaching a religion.“ In one talk he examined religious consciousness and spiritual consciousness.

EA: Yes, definitely. The Master even said something else: „If you make a religion out of my Teaching, I will destroy it.“ He even said so, I have heard it from him. The Master was not about the form, he was about each of us turning our consciousness, our mind, our heart, our body, our soul, and our spirit with all our strength to God. With love for God, with a pure heart inside, and in this state, whatever someone has to do – do it. And then once he said: „Often think of God, always think of God.“ And he even gave us in the first years, in the classes, a task of five minutes each morning, noon and night to think of God – the way we imagined Him. „HOW CAN A SOCIETY BE WITHOUT A STATUTE?„

 

Georgi Sabev narrates. (from Volume 10 of the series “Izgrevat…”)

Now, I can tell you another case, again about a military man. I personally attended the lecture. A military man, was he a captain or other rank, I cannot distinguish between these ranks. He stood, took out his notebook and wrote. But, in advance he asked: „Does the fraternity have a statute?“ He asked someone else. – “There is no statute.” – „How can a society be without a statute?“ He took out his notebook, the Master spoke and he wrote down. However, he wrote down the sentences as laws and rules, as if they were the articles of the statute. And he numbered them: 1, 2, 3, 4…. And the Master spoke and kept looking at him, and he kept writing, writing, and I was behind his shoulder watching. At one point I looked, it was around 11 o’clock, the numbers were 176. However, the Master continued as if through a funnel, and gave this material; the military man finally got tired, maybe despaired, then he closed the notebook and put it in his pocket. And because of this, when I describe it, I say: „And so the statute of the brotherhood remained unwritten because it was written in the hearts of men. „Affidavit of the Statutes of the Brotherhood,” that is how you will find it somewhere in the books.

In Nature, each person is placed in his particular position.

Now for example, you coming here, everyone prefers to sit in the front rows. So what gives you the right to sit in the front rows, do you have tickets? One of the main obstacle is that you try to fix things that do not need fixing. You want to impose order and structure on this society, when it does not need order and structure.

This society has its own order and structure, it has its leadership from another place.

Now take for example, why you do not like that society?

You say, „What will men say, what is the statute of this society?“ Look at the way the world is set! But why does this society need statutes? Since other societies have statutes, why do you not stay with them?

Your common mistake is that by coming here, you want to behave as in the world. No, here you will manifest yourself most naturally, Divinely.

THE UNACCOMPLISHED TASK

Narrated by Todor Kovachev. (from Volume 7 of the series “Izgrevat…”)

An incident with Bai Ivan, again related to the life of Izgreva and the lectures that the Master gave.

In the Youth Class, the Master often gave tasks for our friends to complete. One task, for example, consisted of the following: for a week no one should say any bad words, no insults, no rude actions to anyone. In general, they should strive, no matter how much they were challenged by external conditions, to find a way to solve things in such a way that everything would go quietly and humbly, and to suppress their personal feelings.

Bai Ivan strove to implement all the tasks given by the Master. After this task was given, he decided within himself to implement it. Day after day passed like this, and he made sure that everything went smoothly and managed to suppress all the troubles that fate threw at him.

Last day left. It was summer, warm weather. He decided that day to wash his underwear and the other things he had to wash. At the time when he was washing, a man from the forest arrived and stood next to him. He came and said to Bai Ivan: „Do you, this society where you are gathered here, read the Bible?“ „We read it,“ answered Bai Ivan. „Well, do you read the Gospel?“ „We read it.“ „And what is written in the Gospel, do you fulfill it?“ Bai Ivan answered him: „Well, we struggle to fulfill it.“ „And do you fulfill it?“ „And I am struggling to fulfill it.“ And while Bai Ivan gave him this answer, the latter got bold and slapped him, and he felt dizzy.

This man expected that if he slapped Ivan on one cheek, as it is written in the Gospel, Ivan would turn around and give the other cheek to him, and this one would slap him again. But at that moment, when Ivan got slapped, he did not think of the task, nor of anything else, he did not think of anything. From a sitting down position, he just stood up and kicked the man in the groin, and knocked him to the ground. This man could not come to himself for 15-20 minutes. After he came to himself, he barely got up and stammering called out to Ivan: „Is- is this how you fulfill the Scriptures?“ And Ivan answered him: „If it is for the slaps, I will let you give me another slap, but nothing is written about the kicks.”

The man left, and then Ivan remembered the task; that in this case the task from the Master had failed. And he began to get angry because he could not believe that this was the last day, and that fate presented him with this test to check how he would fulfill the job. He dropped the laundry and began to walk back and forth in the yard; and as he was walking in the yard, he saw that the Master and several other friends of ours were on the lawn. He decided to go to the Master, and confess and complain that he could not fulfill his task.

He went to the Master who turned to him to ask, what was wrong. Bai Ivan told him the incident as it happened. Having told it, the Master laughed and even wiped away his tears with a handkerchief, he laughed so hard. Reassured him that he could repeat the task, even to do it a third time, and so on. When he wanted to, he could fulfill it again.

But the next time during a lecture, after the particular task, the Master mentioned it.

„I will give you an example, an old habit. You know what Christ said: „If they strike you on one cheek, turn the other!“ Is it true? – True. So said Christ. Then one turned and slapped the other. The latter kicked him. The first one slapped him again, the other one kicked him again. He asked, „Why are you kicking?“ – Because there is no law written about it. The law is: If you get slapped on one cheek, turn the other, but you should know that with every slap comes a kick. That is what they call consequence, karma. Karma is the reverse process of dharma. When there is no law, it will be put to test.„

Well, this is a case that also happened with Bai Ivan and which then found application in a lecture.

We found the Master’s lecture. The WORD was delivered before the Youth Occult Class (year 14), in Sofia on January 4, 1935, Friday, 5 p.m., published under the title MISTAKE AND STUMBLING.

ADVICE ABOUT THE HORSE

And thus began the life of Izgreva. But there wass no water, no electricity, nothing. The Master suggested the idea, that down in Dianabad, someplace where the station is now, in the surroundings down around the line, a fountain could be made. And our friends began to work to make this fountain. Bai Ivan was among them.

One day only Ivan went to work. And the Master, I know from Bai Ivan, whenever there was a general event, he was there. Maybe only with his presence, maybe only with some instructions, maybe with something else, but he was there, and gave impulse and tone to the work of the friends. And by the way, Ivan said that whenever the Master was there, you just did not notice how easily and how pleasantly the whole thing was done.

And so that day, only Ivan was working and the Master was faithful to the principle he had, even though only one man was working, he was there and took part in the work. It was already evening and the Master called to Bai Ivan: „Well, you should finish already and let us go.“ But having said this, a friend of ours came and began to talk with the Master. Talking, they slowly moved away from the place where Ivan was working. Moving to some distance, they walked back and forth and talked. Ivan did not know what they were talking about.

After about half an hour, or an hour of talking, this friend left and headed toward town, and the Master came back and gave Bai Ivan a hand and said: „Come on, that is enough!“ And Bai Ivan was in a ditch, which he was digging. The Master gave him a hand and pulled him out of the ditch.

The Master said to him: „Do you know what this friend of ours had been talking to me about so far?“ Bai Ivan answered: „I do not know Master.” „Well, this friend of ours liked a horse.“ Bai Ivan was thinking and saying to himself: “Horse, this must be some kind of symbol. So this friend has some material purpose.“ This is what Bai Ivan thought to himself.

“Do you know what he wanted?” continued the Master. Bai Ivan said he did not know. „Well, this friend of ours, having liked a horse, wanted to touch it, and do you know what I advised him?“ „I do not know,“ replied Bai Ivan. „Well, I told him to touch the horse.“ Ivan was surprised why the Master would give him such advice. If he touched it, there would be unpleasant consequences. The Master continued the conversation with questions. „And do you know what will happen if he touches the horse?“ „I do not know,“ answered Bai Ivan. „Well, if he touches it,” he says, “this friend will be put in jail.” Bai Ivan was speechless. “And do you know what will happen next?” “I do not know.”

„Well, he will be put in jail and then they are going to release him, and then he is going to come to me, and do you know what he is going to ask me?” “Well, did you not know that this would happen and you gave me such advice?” And I will tell him then: “I knew.” And he will ask me: “If you knew why did you give me this advice?” Then I will answer him: “Well, you did not come to me to ask, how to avoid temptation so that you would not have trouble, but you came to me to ask, how to avoid trouble, the unpleasant consequences of the action you wanted to do. That is why I gave you this answer.“

Here the Master leaves everyone to decide things for himself. This is a case unique in our society, where the Master solves a dilemma among our friends; we cannot seek advice from nature or from Divine beings such as the Master, about how to avoid the trouble, the bad consequences of a wrong action, knowing we will have bad consequences, and yet we want to avoid bad consequences in order to have good material benefits. Such a thing cannot happen in nature. The Master said that one needs to bridle one’s horse. And the horse refers to the human mind. The human mind is a Force that has to be harnessed.

Part 2

„THE GREAT SYMPHONY OF THE VIOLETS“

Narrated by Galilei Velichkov (from Volume 1 of the series „Izgrevat…“)

Once, brother Zvezdinsky went to the Master after he had returned from one of his sermons in high spirits, and he began to speak directly in a loud voice: „Master, when are we going to go out into the squares, go up on the stands, and speak and preach the Teachings of the White Brotherhood?”

All this tirade was said in a booming voice, with appropriate gestures, as if he was now going to preach and introduce the Master to the Teachings of the White Brotherhood. The friends who were next to the Master smiled, and barely held back their laughter. The Master looked at him sternly, listened to him carefully, and very quietly but distinctly emphasized his every word:

„This method you speak of, we have tried over the centuries and abandoned it. We gave it up! Now we will work on the Method of the Forest Violets.”

“You will walk slowly along the forest path, and suddenly you will sense the smell and fragrance of the forest violet. You will turn to the left, then – to the right, you cannot see anything – it is hiding in the thorns, in the bushes, between the grasses. Only the fragrance gives away that there is a forest violet somewhere. And you will thank God for it. So we too will work in the world under the most limited and difficult conditions, under the most unfavorable conditions, we will be among thorns and thistles. But with our deeds, pleasing to God, we will emanate a nice and beautiful scent. When others turn to see who these people are, they will not find us, because we will be hidden from the eyes of the people, we will be among the people and work in the most restrictive conditions of life.”

“Is it not said in the Scriptures: „By their deeds you shall know them.” The most important thing for the one who serves God, is to fulfill God’s Will.“

The Master finished and smiled. Brother Zvezdinsky came back to Earth and blinked. And the friends who were around them were no longer smiling. They were silent. Great was the silence of Initiation. This was the greatest Consecration for the School. This was the true path of the School and of those who wanted to work in the way of the Lord.

When spring comes and you smell the fragrance of the forest violet, know that the Great Violet Symphony has begun. Angels sing on high and bring bright thoughts into the minds of human beings.

And the Master introduced us to the Initiation of the Angels who created the new life on Earth. They gave us the Great Symphony of the Violets. And through the violets, they showed us the path of the student in the Master’s School! Amen!

BROTHERHOOD AND THE IDEA OF FRATERNAL LIFE

During a meeting with the Master in conversations on various issues, he told me the following: „It often happened in the past, when the founder of some spiritual society left, his followers changed many of his teachings. But this time he says, Heaven will not allow it.“

A few thoughts from the Master on the idea of ​​brotherhood: „You carry the Brotherhood within you, but you seek it outside. You are not looking for it within yourself, but somewhere outside. But until you understand your heart, you will never understand the Brotherhood. Before you come to the sublime spiritual life of the Brotherhood, which is above you and envelops you as the Sun envelops the Earth, you need to understand the life of your heart; that is, of the little spiritual world, of the little brotherhood which is your heart. The life that God has put into human beings speaks through the heart.“

One morning after the Master had finished his talk in the Izgreva Hall, he stood before the cathedra raised his right hand and said these words: „We will all work, we will glorify The One!“

But one thing we, the students of the Master have to remember: Speaking of brotherhood is one thing, and speaking of the Master is another.

I agree, great is the Teachings of the Master, but let us realize what is the teaching of what we call brotherhood. Because once, without my asking, the Master said this to me: „What do you call brotherhood, these people who have gathered around me? “Tell me yourself, are you a brotherhood? Are you helping each other? Do you love each other? Are you interested in each other? If you do not have these qualities, you are not a brotherhood. Self-assess your own judgment – are you a brotherhood or not?“

„It is very important for you to take into account, the process of forming a brotherhood. What do you mean by the word brotherhood? So, it is not a one-time thing, it is a long process. Accept, study and apply the idea of brotherhood.“

THE ARCHITECTURAL PLAN FOR “IZGREVA”

Narrated by Galilei Velichkov (from Volume 1 of the series „Izgrevat…“)

The Master called me once and showed me a plan that was spread out on his table. I bent down and looked at it, and marked were some big buildings that I did not understand much about. I turned to Master and said, „Master, I do not understand anything about this plan.“ And he told me calmly:

„This is a project by a prominent architect from Sofia, who made a plan on how to build „Izgreva“ with solid structures and buildings. The idea of ​​this plan is to build something solid, something presentable, and to remove all the wooden shacks and fences.”

But where did I come up with this question: „But why does the architect need this?“

„I helped him solve a difficult task of his, and out of gratitude he made this plan. I asked him why he did it. He told me that if the settlement was built according to his plan, he would come here with pleasure, and would not be ashamed and annoyed by the barracks and the wire fences. This man wants an impressive building, like in the city, in order to measure up to the height of the Teachings and the High Ideal.”

“Well Master, what will become of all this?” – and I pointed with my finger to the whole „Izgrev.” The Master continued, “If we build it, they will envy us and take it away from us, and even drive us out of here. And so we will lose the favorable years and we will not be able to do our work. That is why we will decline.”

The Master rolled up the architect’s project and left it in the corner of the room. I wondered why he shared this with me? After some time when they encroached on „Izgrev“ and destroyed it, friends were sent to new tenements, and on the meadow they built the Embassy of Soviet Russia. Then I remembered the words of the Master. The Master was right. These forces attacked “Izgreva,” but it was already very, very late for them.

The Master had finished his work and closed his School. He preempted them. They appeared much later, these forces brought their own architect. He made an architectural plan for them and today you can see with your own eyes what his art is.

The Master left and closed the School. But left the Word. These forces also attacked the Word and began to destroy it, to burn it – they wanted to erase it, so that there would be no memory of it. But this Word is alive, and they will understand what the Word of God means, which is „All-Consuming Fire.“

We know it, we have experienced it through our lives, and we bring it out through our experiences. And each one of you will test it through your life and understand that the Truth about the School is one. This is the Truth about the sojourn of the Great Teacher and God among the Bulgarians and the Slavs.

ONE WHO SERVES GOD DOES NOT NEED LANDS AND HOUSES, CLOTHES AND SHOES

If it is a matter of property, of buildings, you should know that the new teaching does not preach the construction of buildings, does not preach the purchase of property, of land. What people do is a result of the old culture. These are human things, and as such, they are temporary.

The one who serves God does not need land, nor houses, nor clothes, nor shoes – Will he go naked? The one who serves God wields the magic wand: he will tap it, and before him will be brought forth the finest clothes and shoes, made of the most sublime material. What clothes did Christ wear? He made Himself only one garment, and with it He spent His whole life. Of this garment, namely, it is said in Scripture that the Roman soldiers divided it among themselves. We are people of the Divine Life!

„KEY TO KNOWLEDGE”

It was Sunday, around 10 am. Usually at that time many friends from the city gathered, and at 10 o’clock the hall of „Izgreva“ would be overcrowded because the Master gave another Sunday talk. At one point, we saw that brother Radi was carrying a large ladder, standing underneath the window of the Master’s room and leaning it to on the wall. Some went to help him and asked him what he was going to do with the ladder. „The Master told me to go up the ladder, through the window and unlock the door from the inside, because when he came out he left the key in the lock on the inside and locked himself out. He cannot go into the room to get his Bible and start the talk at 10 am.” During this time, the Master was sitting in the yard and watching as brother Radi climbed the ladder. All the friends came out the hall, surrounded the ladder, and watched brother Radi’s hind as he climbed up the ladder. And brother Radi in those years was not as young as he used to be to climb it in one minute.

We all raised our heads and stared up as brother Radi stepped through the window and into the room. A question was heard: „Why not pass through the wall, dematerialize and materialize, and unlock it himself?“ Is he not the Master?” We all heard this question and we all stayed silent. A hundred of us had surrounded the ladder and we saw how brother Radi climbed the ladder, how he passed through the window, how he entered the room, how he went down the stairs, how he carried the key to the room in his hands, and how he handed it to the Master who was sitting below on the bench and watching everything with great attention. He took it, put it in his pocket, and said to brother Radi, „The lesson about the key of knowledge has been given to the students.’’

The Master made him go upstairs with the key, open the locked door, and bring him the Bible. We all saw brother Radi come down the stairs a second time, and holding no longer a key but a Bible. None of us saw a key fly through the air or a Bible with its covers spread open and land on the Master’s lap. We all saw this – that brother Radi’s hands brought both the key and the Bible.

Another voice was heard again: „Well, why is the Master so distracted, that he has locked himself out of his room, and on top of that he left the key inside the lock?“ “Is the Master not always conscious? Is the Master not dealing with Cosmic Consciousness?”We all heard this question and again we were all silent. After a while, we entered the hall and took our seats. Here came the Master carrying his Bible in his hands.

The talk began directly like this: „Here, at Izgreva, there are no distractions. Here, things are precisely defined and mathematically calculated. It is known in advance when and what lesson to give to the students. First, the plowman plows the fields, and then the sower sows the wheat in the fields. Sometimes the plowman and the sower are the same person. The one who sows and the one who plows – for him there are no scattered things, but there are precisely defined actions and a precisely defined goal. He needs to plow the fields and sow the wheat. So also, the Master in a School before sowing, needs to plow the field and make it fallow, because the student’s mind is overgrown with weeds and thorns. It is important to sow a grain of wheat from the Word of God precisely at a strictly appointed time.”

DETERMINATION

Narrated by Maria Todorova (from Volume 1 of the series „Izgrevat…”)

Another, even more interesting case was with brother Todor Popov from Yambol. He was also a member of the Theosophical Society of Sophroni Nikov, and even had a diploma from the Theosophists hanging on the wall. In 1922, he began to suffer from severe headaches. But he decided to treat himself with the Master’s methods. And these were: deep breathing, drinking hot water, regularly meeting the sunrise, vegetarian food, nature-friendly lifestyle, and so on. But nothing helped him. So he was simultaneously a member of two Schools and attended both – that of the Theosophists and the School of the Master. He did not define himself at first for either one or the other; did not seek the help and advice of the Master at first, but began to heal himself by The Master’s methods, while still being a member and attending two different schools. Then he went to the Master and sought help for his headache. The Master saw and knew what he was doing, and told him nothing. Because he used the Master’s methods and at the same time he attended the other, so-called „School“ of the Theosophists. The Master remained silent, and brother Todor Popov left for Yambol, but his headache intensified, became unbearable. Finally, he went back to the Master and told him that he had to leave both the University and the Occult School because of his illness.

The Master looked at him sternly and said: „You are a member of the Theosophical Society, and at the same time you are a member of the Occult School, which I have opened. You cannot do that. You will either be a member there or just here.You have come to the boundary between these two Schools, where their force fields collide. This is the cause of your headache. These are laws, which I have given to teach the students, and you must learn and apply them. The knowledge of the School is for the student, and the one who does not apply it, abuses it, and shows self-will toward this knowledge – and at the same time is a member of the School of the Universal Great White Brotherhood, that student is accountable with his life.”

“The Occult Laws of the School are strict and unrelenting, and spare no one. That is why you must define yourself – either there, with Theosophists, or here, with me in the School. And the students in this School should know their duties which I have given them, and have obedience to the Teacher and to God.“ After that conversation, Todor Popov wrote a letter to Sofroni Nikov, returned his diploma, and told the students of the Youth Occult class the whole story.

THE LAW OF LOVE – UNDERSTANDING AND APPLYING

Now you are sitting around me and digging, you want to know if I am telling the truth, what I am like, where I am from, and so on. No need to dig. When you dig around me, you will dig yourself too. Even so, if you dig, you will find nothing.

I am not in this body: I am seemingly here. One day I will disguise myself and get up from here. And if you meet me, you will not recognize me. You will ask where I am, but you will not find me. It was the same with Christ. You ask: “Do you also know what will happen in Jerusalem?” And we can throw away the white hair, free ourselves from this form, from everything external. We do not think of the world like you do.

In my opinion, all the forms that God created are sacred. To me, the ox is as valuable as the human; the bird is as valuable as the professor. – This is saying a lot.

In every individual, in every form, however small lives the Spirit of God. Whoever hinders this form or this individual, hinders the work of the Spirit. Therefore, when you stop in front of a tree, you will look at it with reverence, without tearing its branches and leaves.

As long as people are slaughtering cattle and fighting among themselves, they can never love each other. Where there is no love, there is no peace.

For the new teaching, it is does not matter who will rule. Let the rich rule, but do not kill, do not imprison people, do not slaughter cattle. Let the poor rule, but do not kill, do not imprison others.

All rulers must apply the Law of Love. This is necessary not only for the external state system, but also for the human souls. This is necessary for both families and individuals.

Christ speaks only to people who have love. – Why? – Because they are awakened. You should all become brothers and sisters to each other, speak only what is in your hearts – in other words, be true to yourself and to your neighbor.

People of today argue about who was more productive, who did more work on Earth.

Remember: There is one Law in the world – the Law of Love. It includes one rule – Never lie.

This is what the Law of Truth requires. There is only one way with Love – the Way of Wisdom.

Love bears only one Good – Virtue. Love serves only one Law – God’s Justice.
